FURNICA 2018 - summary report
The 2018 edition of DREMA, FURNICA and SoFab ended in a huge success. The professionally prepared exhibition of modern technologies, machines and tools for the wood and furniture industries, as well as a number of accompanying events attracted to Poznan a huge number of professionals in the production of furniture and woodworking.
More than 500 exhibitors involved with the wood and furniture industries within the DREMA, FURNICA and SoFab block of fairs presented solutions dedicated to the woodworking, furniture, sawmill and wood energy industries in 9 halls. They were complemented by machines for cutting and sewing fabrics, components for the production of furniture and furniture accessories, as well as adhesives and varnishes. A separate space was the Wood Promotion Hall − a unique area for creation and development of business related to woodworking and for showing the potential of timber.
The Fair in Numbers
The 2018 edition was record-breaking − 28 200 m2 of exhibition space featured the offer of 505 exhibitors from 27 countries. During four days, the exhibition halls in the DREMA, FURNICA and SoFab block of fairs were visited by a total of 16 600 professional visitors from the wood and furniture industry. With an impressive offer full of innovations presented by the exhibitors and the attractive program prepared in cooperation with the patrons and partners, this year's trade fairs received a lot of positive feedback from visitors.
The International Trade Fair of Machines and Tools for the Wood and Furniture Industries DREMA 2018, the Fair of Components for Furniture Production FURNICA and Trade Fair Upholstery Fabrics and Components for Upholstered Furniture SOFAB are the most awaited events for the wood and furniture industries in Poland and at the same time the largest supply center for furniture manufacturers in Central and Eastern Europe. Crowds of professionals who seeking modern solutions, machines and tools in the exhibition halls, as well as hundreds of business talks confirmed the good condition of the furniture manufacturing sector and the need for the organization of the exhibition itself.
This year's DREMA exhibition centered around the idea of Industry 4.0. The emphasis was on the digitization and automation of technological processes, and close cooperation between man and machine. Exhibitors showed future technologies and solutions worthy of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Changes in the wood and furniture industries are approaching rapidly and require appropriate investment in innovation, and inspiration and good practices related to the wood and furniture sector can be found only in Poznan during the DREMA FURNICA and SoFab 2018 block of fairs.
Anyone who attended the event organized on September 11-14, 2018, in Poznań in the area of Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie, was surely impressed by both the exhibition and the offer of accompanying events, including conferences, shows and special zones. Visitors could take a look at 17 products awarded with the MTP Gold Medal and see a number of market novelties. Popular areas included: DREMA Tools, DREMA Design, DREMA Children, a workshop on the production of cabinet and upholstered furniture InfoTEC Workshop, seminar of the State Labor Inspectorate “Enable security in wood processing,” conference “Biomass in the timber industry,” lectures “Wood and Furniture − safe machinery in the context of the applicable Machinery Directive and the idea of Industry 4.0”, the Training Ground – Varnishing, cooperation B2B Wood Meetings, National Furniture Congress POLISH FURNITURE − COMPETITIVE POLAND entitled “Global standards − global competition”, Polish Championships in Nail Hammering and exhibits in competitions Conjured from Wood and the Clash of Champions. Throughout the duration of the fair the Drewno.pl Knowledge Zone, the Parquet Zone, as well as the Wood Promotion Hall operated dynamically.
